News trading policy
Updated 2026-07-05
Quick answer
News trading is allowed; EvalTrade does not use a blackout window that forces you to stop before or after scheduled news.
- You may trade during scheduled news releases
- Normal drawdown, size, and payout rules still apply
- No required news closeout window
- No special payout exemption for losses or wins during news
Worked example — News release trade
A CPI release happens at 12:30 UTC You place a trade at 12:31 UTC The trade is allowed If it settles as a loss, it still counts toward daily and max drawdown If it settles as a win, it still counts toward profit and consistency rules
Edge cases
- Can movement be faster during news?
Fast movement can happen around news. The same risk limits apply, so reduce size if the market is moving quickly.
- Are all markets open during news?
Only markets shown as open in the terminal can be traded. If a market is closed, the trade button will not allow a new order.
