Prohibited trading practices (full list)

Updated 2026-07-05
Quick answer

The prohibited list covers: latency/price-feed abuse, hedging (same/cross accounts), copy-trading and trade duplication, group-trading, front-running, insider information, and clear abuse of the simulated environment.

1. Simulated environment abuse

  • Exploiting price latency, stale quotes, or platform bugs.
  • Firing very large notional size without a coherent strategy purely to farm variance.
  • Repeated 'test' orders designed to probe execution rather than trade the market.

2. Hedging

  • Opening two opposite positions on the same asset — within one account, between your own accounts, or across different traders' accounts — is prohibited regardless of lot size or claimed risk.
  • This includes coordinated group hedging (one trader long, another short, same asset, same window).

3. Copy-trading and trade duplication

  • Duplicating trades (manually or via automation) from one EvalTrade account to another — funded to eval, eval to eval, or between two funded accounts — is prohibited.
  • This includes duplicating trade IDEAS in near-identical timing/size, not just automated copiers.
  • After you've passed independently on each account, you may KEEP them separate or request they be combined by support.

4. Front-running, insider info, and regulatory risk

  • Front-running trades placed elsewhere is prohibited.
  • Trading on non-public/insider information is prohibited.
  • Any activity that creates regulatory or broker-relationship risk for EvalTrade may lead to termination.
Edge cases
  • Is discretionary manual trading fine?

Yes. Manual, discretionary, indicator-based trading placed by the account owner is exactly what the platform is designed for.

  • What if I accidentally opened a hedge?

Close one side as soon as you notice, and open a support ticket describing what happened. We review context before acting.

  • Does using a signal service count as copy-trading?

Following an external signal manually is allowed. Automated mirroring of another account's trades is not.
