What happens if a rule violation is detected
Updated 2026-07-05
Quick answer
Drawdown breaches close the account immediately. Prohibited-practice violations suspend the account, cancel any pending or future rewards, and can forfeit the challenge fee. Soft-rule issues (consistency, trade qualifiers) only HOLD payouts.
Outcomes by category
- Hard rule breach (daily DD, max DD): account closed, no payout, no reset.
- Prohibited practice detected: account suspended, pending payouts cancelled, may forfeit any fee paid.
- Consistency held: payout paused, account stays open, keep trading.
- Missing 5 trading days / 20 qualifying trades: payout paused, account stays open.
- Inactivity on funded (30+ days no trade): account may be paused pending contact with support.
Review process for suspected violations
- Trades are audit-logged. Support reviews timestamps, sizing, and (for suspected automation) session activity.
- You may be asked for context or, for EA disputes, code/execution logs.
- Decisions are communicated by email. Appeals go through support@evaltrade.com.
Edge cases
- Can I get my fee back after a hard-rule breach?
No. Challenge fees are non-refundable after a breach. You can purchase a new challenge at any time.
- Will a violation on one account close my other accounts?
For account-specific violations (single-account breach), no. For cross-account or ownership violations (duplication, hedging across accounts, identity mismatch), yes — linked accounts can all be affected.
- Is there a warning before I'm suspended?
For drawdown breaches, no — enforcement is automatic. For pattern-based violations, we usually request context before suspending unless the abuse is clear-cut.
